Carcano_Diana_Publishing/Presentation_1_of_3

In trying to determine where I would like to present my Action Research I thought of those in immediate need of the information discovered during my time examining the Disengaged Student. The audiences I plan to target are the teachers, parents and students.

I understand that the object of this project would likely be to present at a conference, but as a classroom teacher, dealing with the problem first hand, I see the need to be immediate with my fellow teachers. It is unlikely that many of these teachers would get the opportunity to attend one of these conference and so I would love to share my findings with them at a local level.

Another group that would benefit from the study would be the parents. Parents are at their wit's end when dealing with "discipline" issues concerning their children and so it would be a wonderful opportunity to get their input on the matter and discuss the issues contributing to the problems, as well as sharing solutions.

A third group that would find the study of interest are the ones directly affected by the study; the students. After years of being labeled as troublemakers, lazy, and discipline problems, I am sure these students would be interested to find that the problem may not be what they have told.
